Equator Coffee opens in Larkspur at 240 Magnolia Avenue

Downtown Larkspur got a nice boost to its main Street with the addition of an Equator Coffee at  240 Magnolia Avenue (next to Urban Remedy and near Madrone). Founded in Marin in 1995 by Brooke McDonnell and Helen Russell, Equator is considered some of the best coffee in the area. The Larkspur location is their fourth cafe, but you can also find the beans in grocery stores (Ex Woodlands) and served at restaurants. There are also two Equator Cafes in Mill Valley. and one in San Francisco.

Equator has am espresso and coffee bar, including pour over coffee, as well as a limited breakfast and lunch menu (yogurt, sandwiches, cheese, etc.). Personally I quit caffeine a few years ago and am always searching for a good strong decaf. Equator’s decaf fits the bill if you still like the ritual of coffee.

The Larkspur spot also has a nice outdoor seating area to relax with your coffee, whether walking, driving, or mid-bike ride.
