California Pizza Kitchen in Corte Madera Town Center to close

We get word that the California Pizza Kitchen in Corte Madera Town Center will be closing down this month. Rumor has it that the rent was “doubled” and CPK simply wasn’t willing to pay the higher lease price.

While at one time in the 90’s it was all the rage, California Pizza Kitchen is pretty standard stuff these days but was still a favorite among Marin families for their creative pizzas and pretty good salads in a relaxed environment. They also had a nice and convenient curbside take out business going.

It’s unfortunate to see another family friendly restaurant close up in Marin. Unbelievably there are no other CPK’s in Marin, although SF has one, as does Alameda and Oakland and other cities in the Bay Area. You can find one at https://www.cpk.com/Location/Stores.

There is no word yet on what will go into the space but we will report when we find out.
