Keiko Fish sushi restaurant opens in downtown Larkspur

Larkspur, Opening

Keiko Fish opened this winter in downtown Larkspur in the old Posie spot (250 Magnolia Avenue) with sushi chef Yoshihiko Abe (Sushi Sasabune, Morimoto Napa, Sushi Ran) at the helm. The restaurant serves up sushi in a beautifully minimalist, modern space with at most 2 dozen seats. They do not take reservations but do offer pickup which can be ordered from their website.

The menu features 3 omakase levels, plus an assortment of crudo, ngiri, and rolls. At first glance it is noticeably more expensive than nearby King of the Roll or even Oyama in Bon Air. It’s priced more similarly to Sushi Ran in Sausalito. So it’s probably not a great place to take the family without breaking the bank.

We ordered the most basic Omakase, named the Tokyo ($45), to go, which included Albacore Sashimi, Edamame, 5 nigiri and a Blue Crab cut roll (See photo). The fish was very fresh, but you do leave a bit hungry, so order extra if you can. Next time I would probably try some of the crudos.

The Yelp reviews are consistently very good and it is a nice addition to the neighborhood for premium sushi.
