Patxis Pizza opens at Bon Air Center

Greenbrae, Kid Friendly, Opening

Filling an immediate need for decent family-friendly food in the Greenbrae area,  Chicago-style pizzeria Patxis Pizza opened up in the Bon Air Center in late summer 2015.

They are known for their Chicago-style deep dish pizza, but also serve thin crust pizza and other Italian dishes. Whether it is authentic deep dish or not I will leave to Chicagoans to debate, and while they may say it is not quite the same, it is likely as close as you are going to get to authentic outside of Chicago. Patxis makes their pizzas by hand, including the tomato sauce, so while it is a chain, it is a high quality one.

patchis thin crustIf you have not had Chicago style deep dish, it is a very different experience than regular pizza, or even “deep dish” pizza from other chains. Chicago style deep dish has almost a thick pie crust to it, and is loaded with cheese and almost a chunky tomato sauce. It is very filling compared to thin crust pizza.

Personally, I still prefer their thin crust pizza, but if someone at the table orders deep dish, I have to have a slice.

There is also a full beer and cocktail menu and a happy hour Monday to Friday from 3PM – 6PM (as of this writing $2 off all beers and appetizers, $3 off all wines and signature cocktails, $5 well drinks and personal pizzas up to 2 toppings)
